Our Reading Program implements a scientific approach, The Lexile Framework® , which was developed with more than 20 years of research. The system places both the reader and text on the same developmental scale, and it makes it easy to connect students with books targeted to their reading ability. The effective program helps ensure students' academic success.
We assess students’ proficiency in syntactic complexity and semantic difficulty to align their reading ability to the text readability in books. Using a student’s reading measure as a starting point, it’s easy to find books that provide the just-right amount of challenge to advance their reading skill development.
Students will find just-right books to match their reading abilities in our collection to engage even further. Each book will be provided with a code, which provides more information about the type of book and its age appropriateness. At our newly-innovated reading library, “Reader’s Corner”, students will enjoy reading with the right level of book choices in a comfortable and relaxing library.
